Step into the restaurant and you will find that it has been given a modern contemporary spin yet retains its elegant and exclusive feel, the result of a four-month refurbishment by Hirsch Bedner Associates last year. Inspired by the welcoming nature of a Chinese courtyard, the restaurant’s new look features high-polished marble, dark-lacquered arches, stucco-painted screen panels, polished brass metal accents and traditional Chinese artefacts, all juxtaposed to create a stylish ambience.
Matching the new décor is an exotic new menu featuring a superior selection of signature dishes with an emphasis on premium, fresh, live seafood. These include Australian King Crab, Snow Crab, Alaskan Crab, Live Abalone,Canadian and US Geoduck, Live Sea Whelk, Premium Shark’s Fins, Humphead Wrasse (Su Mei), Panther Grouper, Leopard Coral Trout (Tung Sing Pan),and Green Wrasse.
Be sure to sample the delicious Chef’s Specialties, which include Braised Fresh Deer Sinew & Goose Web, Chilled Foie Gras & Whole Abalone, Baked Stuffed Sea Whelk, and Bird’s Nest with Crab Claw in Clear Superior Soup.
New creations have also been added to Wah Lok’s ever-popular dim sum menu, which is served only during lunch. Try the new Steamed Bamboo Fungus & Vegetable Dumpling, Baked Diced Abalone & Chicken Pie, and Baked Custard Bun, which join traditional favourites like Baked Barbecued Pork Buns, Steamed Glutinous Rice wrapped with Lotus Leaf, and Baked Mini Egg Tarts.
