For gorgeous interiors that exude style and sophistication, look no further than upmarket interior design studio, Su Misura.
Sophisticated design and comfort don’t always go hand in hand, but Su Misura has a knack for marrying both in all the projects it undertakes.
It is thus no surprise that the upmarket interior design division of the Numero Uno Creative Group already boasts an impressive portfolio and a string of accolades despite only being in the business since 2009. These include receiving high commendation at the prestigious Asia Pacific Property Awards two years in a row – for its work on Stellar RV condominium’s showflat in 2013 and its impeccable design of the showflat for the Esta condominium in 2012.
Taking its cue from the gorgeous interiors of the fashion boutiques in Milan, the fashion capital of the world, Su Misura offers top class design consultancy and interior planning services, including an advisory furnishing and decorating service as well as more complex planning and installation works for private residential projects ranging from luxury apartments to landed homes. The specialised team is also known for designing high-end showflats for prominent property developers in the region, as well as its ability to supervise and co-ordinate all parties involved in such large turnkey show suites.
Sky’s the Limit
One of Su Misura’s latest crown jewels is the One Shenton Sky Suite, for which it supervised the conceptualisation and execution of the entire interior design – and won Silver at the H.D.F Luxurious Projects Asia Awards 2013.
In determining the design concept of the Sky Suite, Su Misura took into account the distinguishing characteristics of the apartment: the expansive space, the unique layout due to the asymmetrical
design of the building, and the breathtaking panoramic view of the city’s various landmarks, courtesy of the building’s enviable location in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District.
Sheer opulence describes the 6,000 sq ft space that Su Misura has designed. This begins right at the entrance, in the private lift lobby through which the Sky Suite is accessed. An interesting hand tufted pony hair rug greets you as you step through the threshold, together with two high-backed designer armchairs that make an immediate statement.
Understanding that the foyer would be a key element in creating a strong focal point in a large area, Su Misura composed the foyer with a large floral centerpiece while adding texture to the ceiling by creating an interesting honeycomb pattern.
Framed in dark timber and adorned with a pair of sculptural wall lamps, the walkway takes you to the exquisite dining area. Airy, capacious and resplendent, floor-to-ceiling windows on one side and an open terrace on the other proffer views to the city or sea. The windows are dressed in perforated roller blinds to highlight the silhouette of the skyline at night while a wall of mirrors that cleverly conceal storage spaces enhances the grandeur of the dining area. Two exquisite sculptures and a ceiling panel composed of
dark timber and mirrors further accentuate the space.
As the brightest area in the apartment, the breezy kitchen features a balcony with a magnificent view, a generous countertop space, and two-door fridge. Attached to the kitchen is a hidden restroom with two smaller rooms behind it.
Perfect for holding large parties, the entertainment and living areas are joined by a cosy nook that provides an intimate escape for a conversation with wine or even a game of chess. A pendant light hangs above the entertainment room, creating a dramatic effect, while two large sofas and an accent chair sit in the living area. Behind the living area is a guestroom washed in a monochromatic colour palette and
furnished with a versatile desk that can act as a study table or dresser, two quirky table lamps, and a carefully curated choice of accessories.
Upstairs, a cosy family area has been thoughtfully designed so that the adjoining kitchenette and open terrace can merge to form one huge gathering space for entertaining guests. Food can be prepared in the kitchenette and easily brought over to the open terrace for alfresco dining or a barbeque. Or the owners can simply enjoy the evening relaxing on the lounge beds or jet pool.
The Sky Suite’s tour de force is the master suite in the east wing. A vision of pure luxury, the bed head is designed with illuminated cascading fabric patterns that look particularly enchanting at night. The spacious area allowed the design team to fit in a long dresser and a plush armchair and side table next
to the round bookshelves, creating a lovely corner to read the newspapers over coffee in the mornings. Just as lavish, the annexed bathroom features a bath with a long bay window, double vanity, separate individual shower chamber, and bidet.
There are two more suites in the lavish apartment: the junior suite in the west wing and the secondary bedroom featuring organic shapes like a round bed and a floor-to-ceiling display unit attached to a curved desk that serves as both a study and dresser. A draped fabric ceiling light hangs over the bed, further enhancing the elegance of the room.
The One Shenton Sky Suite is but one shining example of Su Misura’s interior design finesse and aesthetic aptitude.
