For the ultimate in authentic Spanish cuisine, order the Cochinillo Asado, a whole Spanish-style Roasted Suckling Pig that has been marinated with sherry, white wine, vinegar and herbs, and slowly roasted for over three hours. The presentation alone is a highlight – the piping hot pig is brought to the table on an enormous wooden platter, and swiftly portioned into smaller pieces using a small plate. The whole piglet serves up to eight people and is so tender that it can be cut with a plate instead of a knife. As the plate slices through the crispy skin and meat, you get to witness just how tender and juicy the pork is before savouring it. A quarter portion of the pig is good for two persons while half a portion serves four. If you are with a group of six, it is wise to order the whole piglet.
Then end your meal on a sugar high with Serenity’s range of desserts that will leave you sweetly intoxicated – literally – as most are infused with sweet wine, sherry, rum or red wine for that distinctively Spanish touch.
