Fancy furniture fairs, exciting new international homeware brands, and a growing number of house-proud homeowners with eclectic tastes are fuelling the demand for interior design services in Singapore.

Singapore’s design scene is certainly on the rise, as evidenced by the burgeoning number of design and furniture events being showcased in the city. aking its Asian debut in Singapore in 2014 is the biannual design trade fair from Paris, Maison&Objet. The 18-year-old fair is where international big names such as British furniture design star Tom Dixon and contemporary French  furniture label LigneRoset regularly show their latest collections alongside emerging designers looking for their big break.
Local aesthetes are surely looking forward to a sprinkling of some of that stardust from the design world when the
inaugural Maison&Objet Asia arrives in Singapore, with a carefully curated selection of 150 exhibitors featuring lifestyle
wares from furniture and textiles to fragrance, jewellery and interior design.

Besides the famous French home and lifestyle fair, there are several homegrown events that provide design aficionados with plenty of visual therapy. SingaPlural, which is in its second year, showcases the best of local design from the multi-faceted creative spectrum spanning architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, as well as interior, furniture, graphic and fashion design. This event is held in conjunction with the annual International Furniture Fair, the ASEAN Furniture Show, The Décor Show and The Hospitality Show.
